 Recent and Upcoming Developments

Budget Workshop: Tuesday, June 28th at 5:00pm, Keller City Council will be hosting a budget workshop. The time to become educated and offer input to the Council regarding our upcoming fiscal budget is now, not in August when a proposal is drafted. Although this workshop is a public meeting, there will not be a persons to be heard portion. Nevertheless, if interested, this is still a good meeting to become familiarized with the budget process. There will be many other opportunities for public comment. As always, I welcome your input anytime-any day by email or phone. Keller Pointe Renovations: Aside from some minor additional work, the Keller Pointe expansion project is essentially complete. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on June 24th and was well attended by citizens, staff, and council members. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the new updates, I encourage you all to do so! Bear Creek Park Update: Renovations to the park are scheduled for official completion by July 16th. Noting that the Independence Day weekend is a popular holiday in Keller, public works is pulling all stops to unofficially open the park on July 1st. This will allow families to use the park for public use during the July 4th weekend. Please keep in mind however, that there will still be a few items that may not be fully ready until its official opening. Keller Library Recognized as a Member of the Texas Library System: The Keller Public Library has been recognized by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and has been accredited as a fully qualified member of the Texas Library System. This allows the library to pally for competitive grants. Library Summer Reading Program: The summer reading club at the Keller Public Library began on June 6 and will continue through July 22. Registration may be done in person at the library or online atwww.keller.beanstack.org. Not surprisingly, research shows that children who read during the summer break go to school better prepared for the fall semester. Upcoming Events for the Family
