QVHOA Board Minutes February 12, 2020
Location: 992 Pheasant Ridge
Date: 2/12/2020
Time: 8:00 pm
Attendance Present: Chris Whitt, Stacey Whitt, Josh Morphew, Jenilee Harwell, Kathleen Grubby Absent: Sue Tracey, Matt Ward
Membership
2019 was soft compared to years past, but likely driven by high turnover in home sales in the neighborhood. Board is optimistic that outreach, family-friendly events, etc. will drive awareness and membership in QVHOA.
Budget
Expenses in 2019 were higher than normal years due to some unexpected costs. Specifically due to City of Keller mandatory improvements to water irrigation system and masonry repairs at front entrance. Board will look to be conservative with 2020 budget and cut cost where possible.
Board Positions / Volunteers
Quail Valley still actively seeking volunteers for various positions as block captains and board members. Will include call for volunteers in dues letter and subsequent neighborhood newsletter.
Dues Letter
Stacey to write dues letter, Kathleen has offered to stuff envelopes and Jenilee will take to post office.
Spring planting
HOA to lay mulch to cut down on landscaping labor cost. Chris to pick up mulch. Stacey to get flowers. Looking to make spring planting a neighborhood event – March 28th weather permitting. Targeting April 4th as back up date if the 28th is rained out.
Garage Sale
Targeting April 3rd and 4th for a neighborhood garage sale. Josh to connect with Stone Ridge HOA to coordinate.
Independence Day
Potential neighborhood event. Date TBD, potentially June 28th
National Night Out
Due to success the past 2 years, we plan to participate again in 2020. Typically the first Tuesday in Oct. Jenilee to invite Keller PD and Fire again. Possibly have Kona Ice as well.
Holiday lights / Hot Chocolate Walk
Exact date in December to be determined, pending Keller Holiday Festival timing
